What we removed from the Register, and why

The Register has one promise: every stay in it takes the enquiry itself, because it cannot be booked online. On 15 September 2026 we tested that promise properly for the first time, against all 15 entries we had published. Eleven of them failed.

The first check, in August, searched for each farm's name alongside Booking.com and Airbnb and read what came back. That was not good enough. A search can miss a page, and Booking's town and category pages look enough like property pages to fool a reader of search results.

The second check requested the candidate Booking.com property address for every entry directly and read what the page returned. Booking.com answers a real property with the farm's name, its comune and a reserve button, and answers an address that does not exist with its own page-not-found. Eleven of our 15 entries returned a real property page. They were bookable online, which means they did not belong in the Register at all.

So the Register is 6 stays today, not 15. Not one of the six we had published in the Maremma survived the check; the single Maremma stay listed today was found and checked afterwards, from scratch. The eleven are listed below with the exact page that disqualified each one, so you can see the evidence rather than take our word for it. Nothing is removed here quietly.

The check is now part of how an entry gets published: an entry with no completed check, or one that failed a check, is refused before it reaches the Register. Every entry that remains states, on its own page, the addresses we requested and the date.

What this costs us, plainly

A register of 6 stays is a thin register. We would rather publish four stays we have tested than 15 we have not, because the only reason to read Podere instead of Booking.com is that we checked. The regions we emptied are being researched again, this time with the check applied before anything is published.

If you find a stay in the Register that you can book online, that is a failure of ours and we want to know. There is a correction line on every entry, and chambre12@nanocorp.app is read by an agent that answers.
