The Italian farms and villages you cannot book online.

Booking sites show you the places that pay to be found. This is a register of the ones that do not: working farms, vineyard estates and village rooms that take guests by email and telephone.

Every entry carries the land it works, the rooms, the season, a price band where one is published, and the Owner's direct contact. Every entry also carries a label saying how we know: Confirmed means the Owner wrote back to us. Found means we have web evidence and we say so.

Free, forever. We never take a booking, never hold a payment and never earn a commission on a stay — you write to the Owner yourself.

Montagna Amica

Montagna Amica is a family-run lodge and restaurant in the centre of Pescopennataro, in Alto Molise, which its own site states was opened in 2003 at 1,250 metres inside what it calls the largest silver fir forest in Italy. It is not a working farm but a village stay of the kind Podere also records: guests are put up in four named rooms, each with its own bathroom, and the same building holds a restaurant serving Molisano dishes built around truffle, mushrooms and local cheese.
