The Register — Maremma — checked 15 August 2026
Maremma farm stays you cannot book online
The Maremma is the southern coastal half of Toscana, mostly the province of Grosseto, with Monte Amiata inland. The land works olive, wine, grain, chestnut and cattle, and the distances between villages are longer than in Chianti.

Rome Fiumicino and Pisa are both around two hours by car; the coastal railway stops at Grosseto and Follonica. Farms are busiest in August and quietest in November. Inland at altitude, nights are cold from October.
